Plain English & RT Phraseology for Professional Pilots & Air Traffic Controllers
These specialist courses develop the English language skills necessary to communicate effectively on the radio in routine and non-routine flight operations.
Training focuses on standard ICAO phraseology and the six ICAO language profiles of pronunciation, structure, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension and interactions.
Pilots and ATCOs have the opportunity to develop confidence in spoken English and to practice communicating in work-related contexts with close support and guidance from our specialist aviation English language teachers.
At the end of a course of study, trainees have the option to take an English language proficiency test.
Start date: 3rd March 2009
Duration: 4 weeks / 120 hours
Entry level: level 3 pilots and ATCOs wishing to reach ICAO level 4.
Number of students per class: 10
Course cost: £2,495.
Accommodation: On –site student accommodation (bed and breakfast) from £200 per week. Home stay and private accommodation available on request.
Pre-sessional English language training for Trainee Pilots, Air Traffic Controllers, Cabin Crew & Engineers
These specialist courses develop the study and language skills necessary for trainees who are undertaking professional aviation training conducted in English.
The courses develop an understanding of both aviation and technical English in preparation for professional training.
Trainees have ready access to OAA’s facilities, including simulators, aircraft and extensive Computer Based Training (CBT) material.
Tailored programmes cater for the diverse needs of all trainees.

30 hour, 1 week intensive course from £750.00 per student per week
