The one week intensive courses include 10 hours of pre-course study and examine the theoretical and practical aspects of aviation English language training and assessment according to the ICAO language proficiency requirements.

One of the award winning authors of ‘Aviation English',  Henry Emery or Andy Roberts, deliver the course(s) in the comfort of your own facilities.

Teacher Training

The course equips you with the skills and experience necessary for your work in aviation English language teaching. Some of the areas covered include:

•·         Miscommunication on the radio

•·         English as a specialized and international language

•·         Lexis and functions

•·         communication strategies

•·         Pronunciation

•·         Syllabus design

•·         Materials development and analysis

Rater Training

The courses equips you with the skills and experience necessary to apply the ICAO Language Profile descriptors. Some of the areas covered include:

•·         Language testing in the aviation context

•·         Fundamentals of aviation English language assessment

•·         Current tests of aviation English language proficiency

•·         Analisys of the ICAO assessment criteria

•·         Practice in assessing using the ICAO Rating Scale and Holistic Descriptors

•·         Practice in interlocution and language test delivery

•·         Certified assessment of rating ability

One week (5 days) £3775 (per group, max 10 participants) plus flights and per diem expenses.
