Henry Emery - Director of Testing

Henry has been teaching since 1998 and has worked in Spain, South Korea and the UK. In 2005, Henry joined the ICAO PRICE SG Linguistic Sub-Group to work on the ICAO Training Aid ‘Rated Speech Samples’. Along with Andy, he is co-author of Aviation English and Check Your Aviation English.

He continues to work in the area of standardisation in aviation language assessment, and, as Vice President of ICAEA, is coordinating a joint ICAO/ICAEA project to this end. To learn more about this project, click here

Andy Roberts - Director of Training

Andy has over 20 years experience teaching in both the private and state sector. He has worked as a Director of Studies, Teacher Trainer, language examiner and instructor.  Andy has lived in China, Russia and the Middle East and taught/presented throughout the world. He has a long history of producing classroom materials and managing language programmes. Along with Henry, Andy is co-author of Aviation English and Check Your Aviation English.

Dr Terence Gerighty - Senior Consultant

Terence has managed ELT specialist courses for the Oil industry in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, for Gas and PLG companies in Vietnam and  Indonesia, for the World Bank in Africa, for medicine at Shenyeng University in China, and above all, English for Aviation courses for pilots and air traffic controllers from  around the world. He has worked closely with Oxford Aviation Academy for many years. 

After several years with the British Council, he founded and managed ELT Banbury International, near Oxford, for 29 years.  Terence is a Vice-President and Treasurer of ICAEA, and is co-author of English for Aviation published by Oxford University Press.

Faye Waddington-Ayres - Instructor

Faye has over 20 years of experience working as a teacher of English, aircraft systems technical instructor and training analyst at airlines in the UK, Netherlands and Brazil. Having trained as flight engineer and air safety agent, Faye transfers the experience acquired from working in different aviation environments to develop course materials and assessment programmes which help to identify and cater for the specific language training needs of various aviation professionals.

Hossein Raisi - Instructor

Hossein earned his BA in TEFL which was followed by an MA degree in TESOL. He joined the aviation world in 2006 and graduated from Oxford Aviation Academy as an airline pilot (ATPL) for both airplane and helicopter. He has flown in the United States, Great Britain and Middle East. He has also worked as a teacher in Middle East and Russia.
